Background
In 2001, Paolo Cavicchioli and Sergio Muratori Casali founded Ebilling S.p.A. in Modena, Italy with a clear ambition: to lead enterprises into a paper-free era, empowering them to orchestrate fully digital customer communications, free from the constraints of a single print vendor.
That vision has grown into Doxee, a multinational tech leader in Customer Communications Management (CCM) and Customer Experience Management (CXM).

Paolo Cavicchioli | Founder & CEO
He holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. From 1996 to 2001 he held the position of Chief Operating Officer at a leading company in the typography and industrial printing field. In 2001 he founded Ebilling S.p.A. (which became Doxee S.p.A. in 2012) Together with Sergio Muratori Casali. Since 2011 he has held various institutional roles and is a member of the Technical and Scientific Council of the E. Fermi Technical Institute of Modena, and has a seat on the board of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the Modena branch of the Confindustria industrial association, Confindustria Digitale Regionale, and the Business University Commission.
Sergio Muratori Casali | Founder & Co-CEO
After graduating in Economics from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, he began his career in various roles in the sales and marketing department of a leading company in the industrial printing sector. In 1996 he became Chief Commercial Officer of the Services Division. In 2001 he founded Ebilling S.p.A. (which became Doxee S.p.A. in 2012) together with Paolo Cavicchioli and became its strategic leader, guiding the company toward expansion into new markets.
Michael Biechele | Chief Revenue Officer
Michael has more than 25 years of experience working in the software industry, with a background that spans multiple sectors and roles. He has deep roots in the automotive industry and has also worked with clients in the food & beverage, banking & insurance, utilities, construction, pharma, media, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors. After beginning his career in professional services—where he led teams in various geographical areas—Michael moved into sales management and has been running international sales teams for 19 years.
Herbert Liebl | Chief Product Officer
As Managing Director, Dr. Herbert Liebl successfully introduced INFINICA, a pioneering solution for document composition, to the European market in 2006. Prior to this achievement, he held senior positions in prestigious companies. From 2006 to 2013 he served as Managing Director of Qualysoft in Austria and Romania, and he managed software development and projects at GFT in Austria and Hungary from 2002 to 2006. Herbert holds a PhD in theoretical physics from the Vienna University of Technology and a Master of Science in Physics from TUFTS University.
Andrea Rampoldi | Chief Operations Officer
Andrea joined Doxee in 2013 as Service Desk Manager, helping reorganize the area while centralizing application services on the new Doxee Platform. His career began as an SAP consultant in 1998; in 2001 he joined the Application Operations group at Omnitel Vodafone, later holding roles of increasing responsibility at Vodafone Italia.
Silvia Mantovani | Chief Financial Officer
After graduating in Economics from the University of Modena, Silvia built her career in auditing with KPMG and EY. She has extensive experience in administrative management and control with a focus on financial flows, having also served as CFO in complex restructuring scenarios. Silvia places strong emphasis on training and growth of internal resources.
Luca Merzi | Head of Corporate Services and Procurement
Luca graduated in Business Administration from Bocconi University and began his career in audit and control with Telettra (later Alcatel) and ENI. He continued in internal audit and corporate governance at RCS Mediagroup, before moving to Fastweb, where his responsibilities expanded to compliance, procurement, and security & real estate at executive level. Since 2023 he has been Head of Corporate Services and Procurement at Doxee. Organisational process re-engineering has been a core element of his expertise across a wide range of corporate function.
Simona Sassatelli | HR Manager
Simona leads HR strategy with a focus on talent acquisition, employee development, and organizational well-being. Deeply committed to inclusion and sustainability, she drives initiatives aligned with B Corp certification and ESG goals. Her leadership style promotes a collaborative, supportive work culture, fostering continuous improvement, and valuing diverse perspectives.
Robert Dosen | Chief Technology Officer
A cloud evangelist with a passion for technology, Robert joined Doxee 12 years ago and has since held roles of increasing responsibility across multiple technical domains. Today he manages agile development teams and drives technological innovation across the Doxee Platform®. He brings extensive expertise in IT architecture, networking, and operating systems, backed by multiple technical certifications.
Lorenzo Dodi | Product Development Manager
A Computer Engineering graduate from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Lorenzo brings extensive experience in Software Development and DevOps practices to lead Doxee’s product development. With Scrum and Solution Architect certifications, he manages several development teams distributed across multiple countries, applying Agile methodologies to drive innovation and deliver customer value. Believing in a healthy and cooperative workplace, his technical background and leadership skills enable him to coordinate internal resources and strategic partners, ensuring efficient and flexible development processes.
